چکیده
Although there is consensus in the literature that writing skills are important STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) studies, they often neglected. However, some efforts have been made to correct this deficiency, one of them being development assessment rubrics. This study seeks contribute discussion by presenting results application a rubric designed assess group 3rd year engineering students. rubric, which includes linguistic rhetorical-organizational criteria alongside mathematical technical, was used number written exercises essays submitted students 15-week course. The main interest test efficacy as diagnostic tool, conceived detect areas improvement students’ performance and, ultimately, also help achieve higher levels competence. goal achieved, conclusions that, although usually master technical aspects course, must improve rhetorical their communication. It can likewise be said all participants involved profited way or another from contributed identifying ways itself improved for future application.
